LiveFuels Team
LiveFuels is a mini-Manhattan Project including the core LiveFuels team, consulting engineers and scientists, and an alliance of DOE labs.
NREL, the National Renewable Energy Lab which did the seminal $25 million algae study from 1978 to 1998, signed on in September 2006 to help LiveFuels with the Phase I work.
Sandia National Labs signed on with LiveFuels in October 2006. Sandia is presently growing several strains of algae and LiveFuels has the added advantage of access to Sandia’s Combustion Research Facility, which is used by most major car companies to test their engines.
